Cost Containment
Inc. is a privately owned firm established to provide a range of energy
services and programs to companies and institutions in the northeast.
Major services and programs
provided by CCI include:
-
Development of on-site energy conversion facilities,
using integrated energy management to efficiently and reliably produce
electricity, steam and hot water for the host complex. These facilities
utilize the technology required by the application: gas turbines, reciprocating
engines, fuel cells, boilers, electric chillers, absorption chillers, air
compressors, etc.
-
Assumption of ownership and operational responsibilities
of existing – or to-be-built – boiler/powerhouses.
-
Provision of integrated energy management consulting
to assist customers in obtaining the best end results from their energy
purchases.
-
Arrangement for the financing of energy-related projects.
The CCI philosophy
CCI is a developer of
custom-designed cogeneration systems, landfill-to-energy and merchant plant
projects. As a member of the Northeast Energy and Commerce Association,
we have the experience, know-how and financial strength to meet the needs
of today while anticipating and preparing for the needs of tomorrow.
CCI has been in the cogeneration
business for many years and built its reputation in the industry with a
"win-win" philosophy. We respond to our clients' ideas and concerns relating
to a project's development from the initial feasibility study to the system's
installation and service.
CCI is built on a strong
foundation of industry knowledge and experience which increases our ability
to serve you, our customers, with the most advanced cogeneration technology
available. Our reputation is built upon the success of numerous installations
covering a broad range of system sizes, technologies and configurations.
As an owner and operator of its own cogeneration systems, CCI understands
what is required to meet your energy needs.
Cogeneration: the concept
Cogeneration is defined
as the production of two useful forms of energy – heat and power – from
a primary source of energy such as natural gas or oil. For instance, cogeneration
systems typically produce electrical power via a reciprocating engine or
gas turbine and recover a large percentage of the heat energy retained
in the lubricating oil, exhaust gas and coolant water systems to maximize
the utilization of the primary fuel. Therefore, cogeneration systems enjoy
an inherently high efficiency and have the potential to significantly reduce
costs of a facility's energy-related operations. Distributive or on-site
premium power has many advantages to meeting your needs!
Is cogeneration right for you?
If your company fits
the following descriptions, cogeneration is right for you:
-
Purchase expensive electrical power.
-
Operate for extended periods of time.
-
Have a high load factor for the use of chilled
water, hot water and or steam.
-
Have a desire to control energy costs.
Advantages of cogeneration
These benefits translate
into reduced energy operating costs with unsurpassed energy availability:
-
Low cost thermal energy for your facility(ies)
as a useful by-product.
-
Highly reliable source of power with electric
company backup.
-
Rapid recovery of the system costs through energy
savings.
-
Reduce or eliminate electric demand charge
